Wow, Anoop sure did pick up a lot from Quentin Tarantino’s instructions. I liked it, though I’m not sure he’s comfortable with the technique he was taught. But Anoop is a quick study, and because we love underdogs, it would be nice to see Anoop grow in strides and surprise us towards the end.

Better now than from a few week’s back, though he sang this too during sometime in the Hollywood round. Anoop is likeable, I hope he has it in him to sing really great.

I love how Megan sways her arms, unsure of what to do with them. She's definitely unpolished and that's good. It's better to start with a clean slate and learn in the process. If she opens herself to the experience, she will grow leaps and bounds.

With Ryan Seacrest wearing a suit on tonight's American Idol, we find out that Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre and Jorge Nunez advance to the Top 12. We are also treated to the contestants singing Katy Perry's "Hot and Cold" with really hideous choreography even if the boys are made to sit (maybe because of Scott). Kendall is complimented more for her looks than for her singing abilities. It's getting worrisome--how everything seems to be about looks now and how the judges are setting themselves up for sexual harassment.

I'm thinking the Top 36 process is over-wrought. They kept singing this in the auditions, and Simon called him for being "safe" even if it did sound a little bit different from the original. I liked it. A lot.

I really like Kara Dio Guardi’s input. Before the judges would just talk about the contestants and how the public would react to them. With Kara, more insight is offered on how the industry thinks and how’d they receive someone like Mishavonna Henson who can sing, but may not necessarily will find her own place in a sea of musicians.

I had high hopes for Megan Corkrey too, and I think the judges were right about her voice being unique and all, but it wasn’t spot on. Nor was it great. I still like her voice and hopefully she finds her way through the next round.

Dial Idol gives the top spot to Danny Gokey, the only contestant who seems to be safe. Alexis Grace is second and third spot to Michael Sarver. I think Anoop Dawg deserves a spot too, and even Tatiana Del Toro--though I find her insanely disturbed. This elimination process is tough.
